What should you use to clean each kitchen surface?
The kitchen is where the most cleaning-product damage happens, because it has the most surface types in one room: use dish soap and water on most things, a degreaser for grease zones, stone-safe cleaner on granite and quartz, stainless cleaner (with the grain) on appliances, and never vinegar on stone or abrasives on glass cooktops. Countertops — know your stone. Granite, quartz and marble want pH-neutral cleaners; vinegar and lemon etch them permanently (granite guide →). Laminate and butcher block take mild soap and water — the universal safe answer when in doubt.
Stainless steel. Fingerprint city. Dish soap and water first, then a stainless polish applied with the grain. Never steel wool, never chloride cleaners — both scar the finish.
Glass cooktops. Purpose-made cooktop cream and a plastic scraper. Abrasive powders and green scrub pads leave permanent hazing. For burnt rings: cream, dwell, scrape at a shallow angle.

The sink. Stainless sinks love baking soda scrubs; porcelain sinks want non-abrasive cream cleaners. Either way, the sink gets cleaned last — everything else drains through it.
Floors. Match the product to the floor, not the room: pH-neutral for hardwood and stone tile, anything mild for ceramic and vinyl. Over-wet mopping ruins more kitchen floors than dirt ever will.

If you want a lean kitchen shelf: dish soap (degreaser, surface cleaner, floor cleaner when diluted), a stone-safe all-purpose spray (safe on literally everything), and baking soda (abrasive, deodorizer, burnt-pan rescuer).
