Bathroom Deep Clean on Clinton Street

House Cleaning in The Port, Cambridge — Bathroom Deep Clean on Clinton Street

Clinton Street is one of those quietly beautiful Cambridge streets that doesn’t get much attention outside the neighborhood — tree-lined, close to Central Square, and just north of MIT in an area called The Port. It’s a predominantly residential pocket of Cambridge with a mix of older apartments, triple-deckers, and long-term renters who know the area well. It’s also exactly the kind of neighborhood where older bathrooms, in older buildings, can accumulate years of buildup that a regular clean simply doesn’t address.

That’s what brought us to Clinton Street.

What We Found

The bathroom floor told the whole story before we even opened a single cabinet. Around the base of the toilet, dark grime and mold had built up significantly — the kind of buildup that develops slowly over time in vinyl flooring that isn’t sealed properly at the wall joint. It’s a common issue in Cambridge’s older residential stock, where bathrooms were fitted decades ago and the materials have worn in ways that trap moisture and dirt. The rest of the room had accumulated surface grime on fixtures, mirrors, and the sink that compounded the overall condition of the space.

What We Did

Our team treated the floor first — scrubbing the grout lines and the area around the toilet base with appropriate cleaning agents to break down the mold and grime without damaging the vinyl. All fixtures were sanitized thoroughly, the mirror was cleaned streak-free, the sink and faucet descaled, and every surface wiped down from top to bottom. The toilet was scrubbed inside and out. By the end of the visit, the floor had been restored to its original colour — something the client hadn’t seen in a long time.

The Result

The before-and-after difference in this bathroom was one of the most dramatic we’ve seen on a standard house cleaning visit in Cambridge. What had become an unusable, visibly unsanitary space was restored to a clean, hygienic standard in a single visit. The client booked a recurring clean shortly after.

If your Cambridge apartment bathroom has reached a point where regular cleaning isn’t cutting it, a deep clean is the right first step — followed by a recurring schedule to maintain the standard.
